The Study of Alzheimer's Disease in the NAS Twin Registry

The primary goal of this study was to gain an understanding of the causes of Alzheimer's disease so that effective strategies of prevention may be developed. As part of this study, the SRU disseminated an advanced mail out to 13,479 subjects from the NAS Twin Registry, tracked subjects as necessary, and attempted to administer a CATI questionnaire (asking about cognitive status, occupational history and medical history) to each subject. A total of 10,783 interviews were completed during 1996-1997.
