The Health eCommunities Project

This study is a joint research project of UNC-CH and the Association of Cancer Online Resources (ACOR) whose main goal is to assess the impact of participation on patients and others (including caregivers, friends and family) in 9 cancer-related online list serves on quality of life and other outcomes. The Health eCommunities study, addresses several priority areas: factors influencing use of online interventions over time, effects of patient-provider interactions on the use of eHealth interventions, and the benefits and drawbacks of participation in list serves. The SRU’s role in this study is to conduct telephone interviews with those participants who cannot complete the questionnaires online.
