This study sought to understand and evaluate the linkages or relationships between agencies that serve persons with a dual disorder of substance abuse and mental illness. More specifically, investigators from the UNC Sheps Center for Health Services Research wanted to learn which factors predict collaboration and coordination among substance abuse and mental health problems. To gather organizational data on interagency collaboration, the SRU conducted 30-minute telephone interviews with 113 agency managers and directors of substance abuse and mental health programs in six U.S. cities. | |
