Dr. Murphy is H. E. Robbins Professor of Statistics, Professor of Psychiatry, and Research Professor in the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, and serves as Chair of the External Advisory Committee. Dr. Murphy is considered to be the foremost expert in biostatistical methods for sequential, multiple assignment, randomized trials (SMARTs) and discovery of dynamic treatment regimes. She is a 2013 MacArthur Foundation Fellow in recognition of her pioneering work in these areas.
